Uses Appropriate preposition Start with “A” | Examples & Explanations

Unit-এর শুরু হতে এ পর্যন্ত আমরা Prepositon-এর সাধারণ (general) কিছু ব্যবহার দেখেছি। পরীক্ষায় এ ধরনের সাধারণ ব্যবহারের পাশাপাশি Appropriate Preposition সংক্রান্ত ব্যবহার এসে থাকে। Appropriate preposition হচ্ছে “যথোপযুক্ত Preposition” অর্থাৎ কতিপয় স্বতঃসিদ্ধ ব্যবহার (fixed uses) রয়েছে যেখানে নির্দিষ্ট word-এর পর নির্দিষ্ট Preposition-ই ব্যবহৃত হবে। এগুলো অনেকটা idiomatic use-এর পর্যায়ে পড়ে। নিচে Board Ques. এবং পরীক্ষা উপযোগী অতীব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কিছু Appropriate preposition-এর উদাহরণ দেওয়া হলো-

5. ability to (কোন কিছু করার সমার্থ)- He has the ability to work at a stretch for six hours.
6. able to (সক্ষম) – She is able to help them.

7. abound with/in (প্রচুর পরিমাণে বিদামান থাকা)- The Padma abounds in/with fishes.
8. absence from (অনুপস্থিতি)- She had absence from work.
9. absent from (অনুপস্থিত)- He was absent from the meeting yesterday.
10. absolve from/of (মুক্ত করা)- I absolve you from all your sins. The court absolved him of all responsibility for the accident.

11. absorbed in (কোন কিছুতে নিমগ্ন থাকা)- She was absorbed in her book.
12. abstain from (বিরত থাকা)- You should abstain from smoking.
13. accede to (সম্মত হওয়া)- He acceded to demands for his resignation.

14. acceptable to (গ্রহণযোগ্য)- We want a political solution that is acceptable to all parties.
15. access to (প্রবেশাধিকার)- They only have access to the farmhouse across the fields.
16. accessible to (অভিগম্য)- These documents are not accessible to the public.

17. accommodate to (খাপ খাওয়ানো)- I quickly needed to accommodate to the new schedule.
18. accord to (প্রাধান্য দেওয়া)- Our society accords great importance to the family.
19. accord with (সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ হওয়া)- These results accord closely with our predictions.
20. according to (অনুসারে)- Everything went according to plan.

21. accountable for (something) (কৃতকর্ম বা সিধান্তের জন্যে দায়ী)- Someone must be held accountable for the killings.
22. accountable to (Somebody) (কারও কাছে দায়ী)- Politicians are ultimately accountable to the voters.
23. accuse of (অভিযুক্ত কোন কিছুতে বা কোন কিছু করতে)- The man was accused of theft.
24. accustomed to (কোন কিছুতে অভ্যাস্ত)- He is a person who is accustomed to having eight hours of sleep a night. A good boy is accustomed to hard work.
